The Sarofeem family, who have previously owned and operated restaurants in Downey, are opening their latest venture, One Twelve Caffe, on December 12. The café will feature an over $100,000 robotic arm by Wingman Cobot, which can produce a shot of espresso in about 58 seconds. The machine, affectionately named Tom, grinds, extracts beans, tampers them, and even washes the machine. The European-style café will offer a variety of dishes including crepes, pastas, pastries, sandwiches, gelatos, smoothies, matcha, and coffee.

The name “One Twelve Caffee” comes from the suite number within the Downey Promenade, located next to The Olive RestoBar. The logo is unique, incorporating the café’s name in a way that resembles a mug of steaming hot coffee when flipped upside down. Sam, 21, believes that coffee is a culture and that every task that you do is already ingrained, so they wanted to bring something exclusive to Downey.

The Sarofeems, who are part of Generation Z, want to bring something great and exciting to the community they grew up in, Downey. They want to bring something great and exciting to the area, especially to call their own.
