New Zealand Farmers Launch Mushroom Coffee – CoffeeTalk
Levin mushroom farmers Jude Horrill and Brent Williams have developed a special blend of coffee that may offer health benefits. After leaving their corporate jobs in IT and change management, the couple decided to branch out into powdered supplements. Their company, Ohau Gourmet Mushrooms, has been producing oyster and shiitake mushrooms for eight years in Horowhenua. As the cost of living crisis approached, they decided to explore the brain-boosting benefits of lion’s mane and cordyceps mushrooms. They found a reliable source of mushroom extracts, which cannot be grown in New Zealand, and have a food import license. They have recently launched their mushroom coffee, which can be brewed at home, and some studies suggest it may improve brain function and clear away brain fog.
