SYDNEY, Nov. 30, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) provided a wealth of networking opportunities for the coffee community, according to Espresso Company, a supplier of the best coffee machines in Australia. MICE has become a must-attend event, regularly attracting over 11,000 participants.

Espresso Company asserts that the COVID-19 pandemic posed a serious threat to Melbourne’s vibrant café culture. This year’s Melbourne Coffee Week was a celebration of the industry’s and coffee enthusiasts’ resiliency, with a week-long celebration of all things coffee culminating in a tradeshow.

MICE was established in 2012 to connect buyers and sellers. As Australia’s only coffee-dedicated tradeshow, the annual event brings together international guests and Australian customers. Espresso Company explains that Roasters Alley featured more than 25 local and international roasters where attendees could enjoy a beverage while Origin Alley featured producers from around the world.

Espresso Company was on site with some of the industry’s best coffee equipment, offering guest roasters the chance to participate in sessions using the Aillio Bullet. Guest roasters included green bean coffee importers and Jibbi Little, who is regarded as the latte art queen in the specialty coffee community. The trade show also marked the debut of the Cinoart automatic tamper range in Australia.

In addition to the exhibits, the expo featured the World Barista Championships (WBC). Espresso Company explains that the competition’s objectives are to promote coffee excellence, advance the barista profession, and engage a global audience. Each year, more than 50 competitors take part, preparing four espressos, four milk drinks and four original signature drinks to exacting standards in a 15-minute performance. Each performance is evaluated based on the taste of the beverages served, cleanliness, originality, technical skill, and overall presentation by an international panel of certified judges.
