Kiwi coffee business Cooks Coffee lists on UK stock exchange
Cooks Coffee, which operates cafe chains in the United Kingdom, will make its debut on a British stock exchange later on Wednesday.
The New Zealand-based company that generates revenue in England and Ireland through its Esquires and Triple Two cafe businesses will list on the Aquis Stock Exchange, an independent growth index distinct from the London Stock Exchange.
Cooks shares will begin trading on the Aquis exchange with a gong ceremony at 9pm New Zealand time.
Keith Jackson, executive chairman of Cooks Coffee Company and owner of a 22% stake, stated that the company had desired dual listing for the past two years and that the UK listing made sense given that it had no operating assets in New Zealand.
Cooks Coffee operated seventy franchised cafes and would be the only New Zealand company to be listed in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
