Double blow sees cafe move premises

Chris Nash, owner of Nashy’s Coffee House in Cardrona’s Old Station building, has submitted a planning application to Scottish Borders Council to relocate his business to the current Inner Beauty premises at 55A High Street in Innerleithen.

Chris has been in business for six years and has found success with locals, cyclists, and walkers.

However, the last couple of years have been challenging for the business, not only because of the pandemic’s restrictions, but also because of the fallout from a nearby housing development, with dust and parking restrictions driving customers away.

Now he’s hoping that a relocation will provide a fresh start for the business, which will operate as a takeaway only and will operate from early morning to mid-afternoon.

Chris stated in response to the move, “The plan is to close up shop here and relocate there.

“We’ve been here six years, but we’ve had our fill of the construction site, and Covid and I have had enough.

“At Innerleithen, we would open and close early, which I believe will be much more convenient for me.

“Essentially, it will be the same business as before, but with a takeaway option.
