ADAM The Robot Barista Gets Real-Life Use Trial – CoffeeTalk

Richtech Robotics has installed its robot barista, ADAM, in a Walmart location and received positive feedback. However, existing infrastructure was a barrier for some operators. The company designed a system that features equipment commonly found in cafes, including a precision grinder, distribution and tamping equipment, and a hand-pressed espresso machine. ADAM is no longer constrained to an API-enabled coffee machine.

The differentiator of ADAM may be its cheerfulness, as it was purposefully created to be friendly and suitable for places with families and kids. The new iteration of ADAM includes AI capabilities for monitoring and controlling the espresso-making process, using NVIDIA-powered AI vision to observe water pressure during extraction and make precise adjustments to each shot.

In 2024, ADAM was installed at a bar inside Globe Life Field, which is home to the Texas Rangers, serving beer and specialty cocktails. In its first 30 days, ADAM generated more than $32,000 in revenue. Richtech Robotics has even found a non-restaurant side lane in the automotive industry, working with an owner of a car dealership to develop a solution.

Richtech Robotics is ready to scale, working on master service agreements and planning to move from selling to one- or two-location restaurants to larger corporations committed to mass adoption.
