The project aims to create 600 new jobs and increase exports to the US by $400,000 by the end of 2026. The Coffee Academy of Burundi will be funded by JNP and USAID to purchase land, equipment, and construct a dry mill for the academy. Established in 2012, JNP aims to bring Burundian coffee to the global stage and create more economic opportunities for women in the country. Coffee grown in the mountains of Burundi is known for its sweet fruit and floral characteristics. JNP Coffee also has operations in Massachusetts and Burundi, as well as in Germany.
