Bo’s Coffee, a Filipino coffee chain, has expanded into the Middle East with the opening of its first store in the United Arab Emirates.

Al Mulla Business Group, a franchisee based in the United Arab Emirates, has opened the store in Dubai’s Burjuman Mall.

Bo’s Coffee was founded in 1996 and currently operates approximately 100 locations in the Philippines. Additionally, the company operates eight locations in Qatar through franchise partner Al Majed Group. Qatar was previously the only international market for the coffee chain.

In Burjuman Mall, the brand joins a multitude of café operators. The shopping center has more than forty cafés and restaurants, including Café 302, Caribou Coffee, Costa Coffee, Dunkin’, Gloria Jean’s, J Café, Krispy Kreme, Paul, Starbucks, and Tim Hortons.

This year, an increasing number of international chains are seeking to expand in the UAE, including Bo’s Coffee. Joe & The Juice, a Danish coffee and juice chain, opened its first location in Dubai in September 2022, while Peet’s Coffee, an American specialty coffee chain and roaster, will open a location in the United Arab Emirates by the end of the year.

In addition, the French café chain Café Kitsuné will launch in the United Arab Emirates in the first quarter of 2023.

According to research conducted by World Coffee Portal, the total number of branded coffee shops in the UAE is approximately 1,400. Project Café Middle East predicts that the market will expand by 4% over the next five years, reaching 1,680 locations by 2027.
