The Coffee Club has launched its first ever store in Kenya and signed a supply partnership with local coffee roaster Dormans to mark its entry into the East Africa market.

Its first location has opened in the Lavington area of Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, and comes following the brand’s commitment to expand across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania through a partnership with Luqman Petroleum.

Kenya’s Agriculture and Food Authority Director General Dr. Bruno Linyiru says the opening of the Coffee Club in Nairobi aligns with Kenya’s Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda (BETA), which aims to promote value addition, market development, sustainability, and youth employment through increased domestic coffee consumption.

The Coffee Club’s Middle East and Africa franchise partner Liwa Minor released a statement on LinkedIn celebrating the brand’s East Africa launch.

“We are proud to announce the opening of The Coffee Club’s first-ever store on the African continent, located in Nairobi, Kenya – a city renowned for its energy, innovation and deep-rooted coffee heritage,” the company statement reads.

“This milestone not only marks the beginning of The Coffee Club’s journey in East Africa, but also demonstrates the strength of our regional franchise model, powered by global brand standards and local insight.

“A key part of this launch is our partnership with Dormans Coffee, who now roast our signature Melbourne-crafted blends locally in Nairobi – ensuring freshness, supporting Kenyan supply chains and reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and local collaboration.”

Liwa Minor and The Coffee Club aim to open 25 locations across the East Africa market over the next 10 years.

Founded in Brisbane in 1989 by Emmanuel Kokoris and Emmanuel Drivas, The Coffee Club has grown to operate more than 400 stores across nine countries.
