Smell of Nestlé Coffee Leaving N.J. Town as Iconic Factory Shuts Down

Nestlé has officially ended production at its 75-year-old Freehold plant, with half of its 225 employees set to leave on Friday. The remaining employees will help with the decommissioning process over the next few months. The Freehold plant was the company’s last remaining coffee production facility in the US. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters condemned Nestlé for closing the plant, stating that the company should be ashamed for turning back on workers and the community. Nestlé still has over 1,000 employees across five locations in New Jersey.
