Piazza D’Oro supporting local fire service – BeanScene

Piazza D’Oro is getting involved in the local community with its support of the Kulnura Rural Fire Service (RFS) Brigade at an event on Sunday 8 June.

The coffee brand is partnering with the RFS at a new community-driven initiative aimed at enhancing fire preparedness, increasing public awareness of the vital role of local volunteers, strengthening community bonds, and encouraging new members.

Piazza D’Oro is partnering with the 20-member volunteer brigade by donating all equipment needed for the pop-up coffee cart, all while selling coffee with 100 per cent of the proceeds going towards the Kulnura Volunteer RFS Brigade’s operational requirements.

The brigade is continuing to rebuild following the 2019-20 bushfires. It responds to fires, car accidents, and emergency callouts to assist NSW ambulance and police officers, often in remote locations.

They are also the only brigade on the plateau equipped to enter burning structures.

“At Piazza D’Oro, we believe in the power of coffee to bring people together and create meaningful connections,” says Piazza D’Oro’s Janine Riedel.

“We’re honoured to support a brigade that puts their lives on the line to protect their community. This initiative really allows us to foster connections within the community, whilst giving back.”

The coffee served on the day has been donated by Piazza D’Oro through its JDE Peet’s staff network, with complimentary cups also requested to ensure a smooth and sustainable operation.

The cart will be run by a trained barista, who also happens to be a member of the brigade. There is hope to offer barista training and expand the concept to other brigades across NSW. The pop-up cart will officially launch at the Central Coast Harvest Festival 2025.
