Pennsylvania makes changes to how restaurant workers are tipped
On Friday, a new law goes into effect in Pennsylvania that could increase the pay of tipped workers, such as restaurant servers.
The new regulations include increasing hourly wages based on the number of tips a worker receives and prohibiting businesses from charging workers fees when the tip is paid with a credit card.
“It seems very nice to me. I have a job and rely heavily on tips, so this will be of great assistance “Henry Cissel said.
When it comes to ‘tip pooling,’ the new rules make it abundantly clear that in order to share the wealth, someone must do actual work, such as bussing tables, and not just supervise.
