Nestle Cuts Ties With South African Staple Coffee Creamer Brand – CoffeeTalk
Nestlé SA is selling Cremora, a coffee creamer brand used in a fifth of instant coffee cups in South Africa, to Groupe Lactalis of France for an undisclosed amount. The move follows a review of Nestlé’s local product range, which includes Nescafé, Ricoffy, Maggi, Nespray, and Kit Kat. The disposal of Cremora will allow Nestlé to focus on other products that offer better value. Cremora faces a fierce price battle with local rival Ellis Brown, which sells the same creamer pack for 64.99 rand ($3.63). Nestlé’s coffee creamer business in the US has also struggled. The company recently replaced its CEO Mark Schneider with Laurent Freixe, raising concerns about its problems.
