Luckin Coffee has opened a Brazilian coffee-themed store in Beijing, marking the start of 30 more nationwide. The company plans to deepen its collaboration with Brazil this year, following a five-year non-binding agreement signed last year between Starbucks and Brazil. The first Brazilian coffee-themed store opened in Shanghai last year, while its Luckin Brazil Coffee Museum was launched in Kunshan. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva visited China from May 10-14, where a number of trade deals were signed, with China set to invest an additional USD4.6 billion in Brazil. Trade between the two countries increased by 3.6% to USD188.2 billion last year from 2023. Brazil’s exports to China amounted to USD116.1 billion, resulting in a trade surplus with China. Meanwhile, Chinese beverage chain Mixue Group plans to procure products worth at least CNY4 billion from Brazil in the next three to five years.
