Hello Kitty Café coming to Melbourne Central – BeanScene
Melbourne’s Hello Kitty and Friends Café is set for a permanent home at Melbourne Central Shopping Centre following the success of a pop-up site at Chadstone in 2024.
The new site will open on 9 May 2025 and is set to feature four unique spaces inspired by Hello Kitty and her iconic friends, including Cinnamoroll, Kuromi and My Melody.
“This May, the highly anticipated Hello Kitty and Friends Café will open on Level 1 of Melbourne Central, delivering a first-of-its-kind immersive dining experience that brings the whimsical world of Sanrio to life,” the shopping centre’s website says.
“Across four creatively designed spaces, guests will step into a kawaii dreamworld that blends Japanese pop culture, art and culinary delights in a way that’s uniquely Melbourne.”
The menu at the Hello Kitty and Friends Café pop-up featured strawberry sandos, themed bento boxes, strawberry iced matcha lattes, cakes, cookies, and coffee.
