The union filed an unfair labor practice against Starbucks over its alleged refusal to bargain around promotion days like Red Cup Day, half-off ThursYays, and Buy One Get One Free offers. Workers claim the company is scheduling these events with increasing frequency without any additional staffing to cover the influx of orders. Starbucks Workers United is asking Starbucks to turn off mobile ordering on future promotion days. Starbucks executives maintain that the union is unwilling to negotiate and has declined to meet for contract talks.
